Tradetron Marketplace Guide: Find, Check and Deploy Strategies

The Tradetron Marketplace is a collection of trading strategies built by creators that you can subscribe to and run automatically in your own broker account. To use it well: filter by your capital and segment, judge each strategy on drawdown before returns, subscribe, run it Live Offline first, then deploy Live Auto at a size you can live with.

Two ways to start on Tradetron

You can build your own strategy in the no-code builder, or use one from the marketplace. Many traders do both: they run a marketplace strategy while learning to build. If you want to build, start with what a strategy builder actually does. This guide is about the marketplace.

Step 1: Narrow the list with filters

Before looking at any returns, cut the list down to strategies you can actually run:

Filter Why it matters first
Capital required A strategy that needs more than you have can't be run at its intended size
Segment or exchange Options selling, futures, stocks and commodities carry very different risks
Trading style Intraday, positional, expiry-day: it should fit how you can follow along

Step 2: Judge a strategy properly

Click a strategy to open its page: the description, the P&L graph, historical performance and risk figures such as drawdown and minimum capital. Read them in this order.

  1. Read the description. What does it trade, when, and what is the exit logic? If you can't explain it in two sentences, you won't hold it through a bad week.
  2. Check the maximum drawdown. The worst fall from a peak. Ask whether you could watch that much of your capital disappear and keep going.
  3. Check minimum capital, and plan to keep a buffer above it.
  4. Look at the P&L graph's shape. A steady slope with shallow dips is easier to live with than a few big jumps.
  5. Only then look at returns, and compare them with the drawdown.

Scatter chart of three hypothetical strategies: A with 40% return and 35% drawdown (ratio 1.1), B with 24% return and 8% drawdown (ratio 3.0), C with 14% return and 6% drawdown (ratio 2.3)Return divided by worst drawdown (hypothetical strategies)

In the example, Strategy A has the highest return, but it once fell 35%. Strategy B earned less per year but its worst fall was 8%, so each rupee of drawdown "bought" about three rupees of return. Most people can stay with B through a bad month; many give up on A at the bottom, which is the worst time to stop.

Step 3: Subscribe and deploy

  1. Click Subscribe on the strategy page.
  2. Find it in My Strategies. Use the Marketplace filter to see strategies you've subscribed to.
  3. Click Deploy and choose Live Offline. The strategy runs on live prices and records every trade, but nothing is sent to the exchange. Let it run for a few weeks.
  4. Compare what it did with what the strategy page led you to expect.
  5. Deploy again with Live Auto, choose your connected broker, set the multiplier (start at 1x), and confirm.

If you haven't connected a broker yet, follow how to connect your broker to Tradetron.

Step 4: Monitor what's running

Open the Deployed section to see positions, today's P&L and the history of each running strategy. A weekly routine is enough for most strategies:

  • Compare live results with the backtest and the strategy page.
  • Check for errors or rejected orders, which usually mean margin, token or broker issues.
  • Don't raise the multiplier after a winning streak; raise it, if at all, after the strategy has handled a losing stretch the way you expected.

Common mistakes with marketplace strategies

Mistake Better approach
Choosing by highest return Choose by return relative to drawdown
Skipping Live Offline Run every new strategy Live Offline first
Starting at a high multiplier Start at 1x and scale slowly
Running five similar strategies Different strategies on different instruments or styles spread risk better
Stopping at the first losing week Decide in advance what drawdown would make you stop

Want to publish your own strategy?

Creators can list their strategies on the marketplace for others to subscribe to. Read marketplace settings on Tradetron for how listing works. If you're comparing this with other ways of following someone else's trades, see the best copy trading app in India.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Tradetron Marketplace?

It's a collection of rule-based trading strategies built by creators. You can study each strategy's description and past performance, subscribe, and deploy it in your own broker account.

Do I need to build my own strategy to use Tradetron?

No. You can subscribe to marketplace strategies and run them without building anything. Many traders start this way and learn to build later.

How do I pick a good strategy from the marketplace?

Filter by capital, segment and style first. Then check maximum drawdown and minimum capital, look at the shape of the P&L graph, and compare returns with drawdown rather than looking at returns alone.

Should I test a marketplace strategy before going live?

Yes. Deploy it Live Offline first, where it runs on live prices and records every trade but sends nothing to the exchange. Go live only once its behaviour matches what you expected.

Can marketplace strategies lose money?

Yes. Every strategy carries market risk, and future drawdowns can be larger than past ones. Size with the multiplier so a bad period is a loss you can accept.

Do marketplace strategies run automatically?

Yes. Once deployed in Live Auto with a connected broker, the strategy's rules run in the cloud and place orders in your account. You can stop the deployment any time.
