Option simulator: replay a real trading day, minute by minute
Pick a day that already happened, trade options from the chain exactly as it stood, then move the clock and watch how your trade really played out. When it works for you, Cookie turns what you did by hand into an algo you can backtest and run with your broker.
- 1-minute prices
- Since 2020 for NIFTY & Bank Nifty
- Real option chain: Delta, IV, OI
- No modelled prices, ever
One of the narrowest NIFTY sessions since 2024: 0.30% high-low range, India VIX 12.1. Shows option time decay when the index barely moves.

Days worth replaying
Each is a real session from our data, picked because something happened that every options trader should feel once: a gap that held or faded, volatility jumping, an expiry-day run, a one-way trend.
How it works
- Pick a day and a minute. Start from a preset day, or sign up free to open any trading day in the data.
- Trade from the real chain. Buy or sell any strike at the price it traded at that minute, with Delta, IV, OI and OI change beside it.
- Move the clock. Step a minute, an hour or to the close, and read the P&L, the payoff and the Greeks as they were.
1. Pick a day and a minute
Choose the index, the day and the minute. Here: NIFTY 50, 6 Aug 2026, 09:20.
3. Move the clock
A 24,650 straddle sold at 10:30, read at 14:30: P&L, breakevens, the payoff line and each leg.
What you get
- A 1-minute replay of the session, with jumps of a minute to an hour, auto-play and the day's gap
- The option chain with Delta, IV, OI and OI change, plus PCR and max pain
- Multi-leg positions: straddles, strangles, spreads, condors, futures; quick starts for the common ones
- Payoff at expiry and at any target time, with ±1σ and ±2σ bands and what-if controls for spot and IV
- Position Greeks, partial exits and a trade log with every entry and exit
- Signed in: any trading day, and positions held across days to expiry
Why replay a day instead of waiting for the next one
Practising live gives you one market day per day, and you never get to take the same decision twice. A replay gives you the day you choose, as many times as you like. Sell the straddle at 9:20, then try it at 10:30. Hold through the gap, then exit at the first spike. Practise an expiry day or a volatility spike when you want to, not when the market offers one, and see the outcome in minutes instead of weeks.
Then let it run
Did a trade make sense to you on one day? Turning it into rules is the next step. Tell Cookie, Tradetron's AI, what you did: your entry time, your strikes as distance from ATM, where you got out and why. Cookie writes it as an algo with an entry rule and a stop-loss or time exit. You backtest it on years of data, and deploy it with your broker when you're ready. Algo trading carries risk; a backtest describes the past, not the future.
About the data
NIFTY and Bank Nifty from January 2020, FINNIFTY from February 2021, SENSEX from August 2023 and Midcap Nifty from September 2023, at 1-minute steps. 35-day lag; SEBI requires 30. We never fill a missing price with a model: a strike, or the index, that did not trade in a minute shows its last price from earlier that day, greyed. SENSEX uses approximations: no BSE settlement or margin files, and a thinner chain.
Questions traders ask
Is the option simulator free?
Yes. You can replay the preset days on this page without an account. A free Tradetron account opens every trading day in the data, with positions you can hold across days.
Do I need a broker account or a demat account?
No. The simulator replays past prices and never places an order, so there is nothing to connect.
How far back does the data go?
NIFTY and Bank Nifty from January 2020, FINNIFTY from February 2021, SENSEX from August 2023 and Midcap Nifty from September 2023, at 1-minute steps.
Why can't I replay recent days?
Replay data runs with a 35-day lag; SEBI requires 30.
Is there an option simulator for SENSEX?
Yes, from August 2023. SENSEX is a BSE index, so it runs on approximations: there is no BSE settlement price or margin file in our data, and its option chain is thinner than NIFTY's.
What happens when a strike did not trade in a minute?
You see its last traded price from earlier that day, greyed out, with the minute it traded. We never fill a missing price with a model. The same goes for the index itself.
Can I hold a position overnight or to expiry?
Yes, once you sign in. Move to the next day and the position carries over; at expiry it settles at the index's closing level.
How is a replay different from a backtest?
In a replay you make each decision by hand while the clock moves. A backtest runs written rules over years of history in one go. On Tradetron that is the next step: once your idea is a set of rules, you can backtest it.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The simulator works in the browser on a phone; the chain scrolls inside its own panel.
