FAQ #700

What is a Parameter Sweep and how do I use it?

  • What it does: Runs your strategy several times in one submit — once for every combination of the values you pick — so you can compare settings instead of backtesting them one at a time.
  • How to use it: Choose the parameters you want to vary, such as Stop Loss and Target, and give each one a list of values. Every combination runs as its own full backtest over the same period.
  • Example: Stop Loss 1%, 2%, 3% together with Target 5%, 10% gives 3 x 2 = 6 backtests from one submit.
  • What you get: One result per combination, so you can see which settings performed best on the same data.
  • Credits: Each combination is a full backtest and is charged as one, so the credits used equal the number of combinations.
