Virtual server for algo trading — Tradetron
Help · Brokers

Virtual server for algo trading.

The exchange framework requires that a broker accept API orders only from an address registered with it. Tradetron runs your orders from a dedicated virtual server whose address you register with your broker. Here is what the rule says, what it costs, and how to set it up.

SEBI circular, 4 Feb 2025Applies to all brokers from 1 Apr 2026From ₹100 a month + GST

How an order reaches your broker

  1. Your strategy Runs on Tradetron's servers
  2. Your virtual server 203.0.113.24 example address
  3. Your broker Accepts the order only if this address is registered
  4. Exchange NSE · BSE · MCX
01 · The rule

What SEBI and NSE require.

SEBI's circular on safer participation of retail investors in algo trading bars open APIs. The exchanges' implementation standards turn that into the rules below.

[ 01 ]
No open APIs
Brokers may allow API access only through a unique API key and an IP address that the broker has whitelisted, with OAuth login and two-factor authentication.
[ 02 ]
One or two addresses per client
You can register one primary address and, if you like, a secondary one for redundancy. An address can be mapped to only one client at a time. Family members may share one, on a written request to the broker.
[ 03 ]
Change it at most once a week
You can update the address mapped at your broker no more than once a calendar week. In exceptional cases, contact your broker.
[ 04 ]
Sessions end every day
All API sessions must be logged out every day before the next trading day begins.
4 Feb 2025 SEBI issues the circular, first due from 1 Aug 2025 and later moved to 1 Oct 2025.
1 Oct 2025 Brokers that are ready go live. The rest follow a glide path.
1 Apr 2026 The framework applies to every stock broker.
02 · Set it up on Tradetron

Five steps, once per broker.

Your strategies run on Tradetron's servers, not on your computer, so your orders reach the broker from our network. Your home or office address will never match. The address your broker needs is your virtual server's.

  1. [ 01 ]

    Add your broker.

Go to Broker & Exchanges and click Add Broker. If your broker wants the address before it gives you API keys, some broker guides ask you to save the connection with placeholder details first and fill them in later.

  2. [ 02 ]

    Enable a virtual server.

Open the broker's edit page and click Enable virtual server. Pick a plan and pay from your Tradetron wallet or online.

  3. [ 03 ]

Get the server address by email.

As soon as the server is active, we email its address and validity to your registered email. To get it again, click Email server details next to the broker on Broker & Exchanges.

  4. [ 04 ]

    Register it at your broker.

In your broker's API or developer settings, register the server address as your primary or secondary IP address. Where that setting lives differs by broker, so follow your broker's guide on the Tradetron Helpdesk.

  5. [ 05 ]

Log in to your broker and deploy.

Complete your broker login or token on Broker & Exchanges as usual, then deploy. Orders to that broker now go out from the address you registered.

03 · Price

One virtual server per broker.

Each broker you trade through needs its own. Prices are before 18% GST.

1 month ₹100
3 months ₹250
1 year ₹1,000

Broker & Exchanges shows when each server is valid till. Click Extend virtual server on the broker's edit page to add time. You keep the same address, so there is nothing to change at your broker.

04 · Questions

Common questions.

Do I need a virtual server for every broker?
Not always. Some broker connections on Tradetron do not ask you to register an address. You need a virtual server if your broker's API settings ask you to register an IP address, or if orders fail with a message about an unregistered IP. The Enable virtual server button appears only for brokers where Tradetron offers it. Your broker's guide on the Tradetron Helpdesk says whether it needs one.
Can I register an address I already have?
No. Tradetron places your orders from its servers, so your broker sees your virtual server's address, not your own. Register the address from your virtual server email.
Is my server address shared with other Tradetron users?
No other Tradetron user is given the same address on the same broker.
I registered the address and orders still fail. What should I check?
Check that the address at your broker matches the one in your virtual server email exactly, and that Broker & Exchanges does not show the server as expired. Then log in to your broker again from Broker & Exchanges. If you changed the address at your broker this week, remember brokers allow one change per calendar week. Still stuck? Write to support@tradetron.tech with your broker name.
What happens when my virtual server expires?
Broker & Exchanges shows Virtual server expired on the date it ended. Click Extend virtual server to renew it. You keep the same address.
Why does my broker make me log in every day?
The exchanges' standards require all API sessions to be logged out every day before the next trading day. How you log in again, by token or broker login, depends on your broker.
