Connect Tradetron's MCP server, https://mcp.tradetron.tech/mcp, to ChatGPT, sign in with your Tradetron account, and describe your strategy in plain English; ChatGPT builds and backtests it in your Tradetron account. Today OpenAI allows this full connection on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, on the web, where an admin or owner adds it. On Plus or Pro, use Claude with the same connector until the one-click Tradetron app is listed in ChatGPT.

Add Tradetron as a custom MCP server in Plugins.

Business
Works. Only a workspace admin or owner can add it and publish it for the workspace.
Enterprise and Edu
Works. Admins and owners can add it, and can let selected members add it through role-based access.
Pro
Partly. OpenAI lets Pro connect custom MCP servers with read and fetch permissions only, so ChatGPT can look things up but cannot build, edit or backtest a strategy.

Not offered by OpenAI for custom MCP servers today. Use the Claude guide, or wait for the Tradetron app below.

Custom MCP servers are added on ChatGPT on the web only.

Coming soon. The one-click "Tradetron" app in ChatGPT's app directory. It is in OpenAI's review and is not listed yet; this page will say so when it is.

Steps checked on 24 October 2026 against OpenAI's help article on connecting custom MCP servers. Menus can move; if a label differs, that article has the current one.

    Open Plugins
    In ChatGPT on the web, go to Plugins. On Business this must be an admin or owner; on Enterprise and Edu, an admin, an owner or a member they have allowed.

    Add a custom MCP server
    Select the + button, then Add custom MCP server, and name it Tradetron.
  3. [ 03 ]
    Paste the Tradetron URL
    Under Connection, enter https://mcp.tradetron.tech/mcp.
  4. [ 04 ]
    Use OAuth sign-in
    Set authentication to OAuth, so each person signs in with their own Tradetron account. There is no key to paste.
  5. [ 05 ]
    Accept the warning and create
    Review the risk warning, tick I understand and want to continue, select Create as a plugin, and check the Tradetron tools it found.
  6. [ 06 ]
    Install, sign in and ask
    Install the plugin, start a new chat, type @ and pick Tradetron. Sign in on Tradetron's page when asked, and approve each action when ChatGPT asks you to confirm.

Publish it for the workspace
An admin or owner publishes it from the Admin console: Plugins › Manage Legacy Apps › Drafts › Publish. Members then find Tradetron under Settings › Plugins and sign in with their own Tradetron accounts.
Plus or Pro
Use Claude today
The same connector works in Claude on every plan, including Free, so you can build and backtest now and move to ChatGPT when the Tradetron app is listed.

03 · Your account

What it does in your account, and what it never does.

What happens
  • Every strategy ChatGPT builds is saved as a strategy template in your Tradetron account. You can open, read and edit it in the Strategy Builder like any other.
  • A backtest can be charged from your Tradetron wallet at the usual fee. You are asked to confirm before a charged backtest runs.
  • It can deploy a strategy in Live Offline, which runs on live prices and sends no orders. Nothing goes live without you: connecting a broker and going live is a step you take yourself on tradetron.tech.
What it never does
  • It never places a live order and never sends anything to your broker.
  • It gives no investment advice. It will not tell you what to trade, and a backtest is not a forecast.
  • It never sees your password: you sign in on Tradetron's own page, and every tool works only on your own account.

Can ChatGPT build a trading strategy for me?
Yes, once Tradetron is connected. You describe the rules in plain English, and ChatGPT builds them as a real strategy in your Tradetron account and can backtest it from the same chat. Without the connection, ChatGPT can only write rules or code that you then have to set up yourself.
Which ChatGPT plans can connect Tradetron today?
ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, on the web, where an admin or owner adds it as a custom MCP server. OpenAI lets Pro connect custom MCP servers with read and fetch permissions only, which is not enough to build or backtest. Plus, Go and Free are not offered custom MCP servers today.
Is Tradetron in the ChatGPT app directory?
Not yet. The one-click Tradetron app is in OpenAI's review. Until it is listed, use the custom MCP server steps on this page, or the same connector in Claude.
I am on ChatGPT Plus. What can I do now?
Use Claude with the same Tradetron connector: it works on every Claude plan, including Free, which allows one custom connector. Or ask Cookie, Tradetron's own AI, to build the strategy in your account.
Can ChatGPT place trades with my money?
No. The connector can build, backtest, edit and explain strategies, and deploy them in Live Offline, which runs on live prices without sending any order. Going live with a broker stays with you, on tradetron.tech.
Does ChatGPT ask before it changes my account?
ChatGPT asks you to confirm actions that change data, depending on the app's permissions and the action. Tradetron also asks you to confirm before a backtest that costs credits runs.
Is it free?
Connecting is free. The thinking runs on your ChatGPT plan. Backtests and other actions are charged at your usual Tradetron fees, the same as on the website.
