How to connect Interactive Brokers to Tradetron.
- Sign in to Tradetron, or create a free account, with the market region set to USA.
- Open Brokers & Exchanges and click + Add Broker.
- Choose Interactive Brokers V2 from the broker list, then click the Connect Broker link shown with it.
- On Tradetron's IBKR page, download the three public files: two public keys and the Diffie-Hellman parameters. They hold no secrets.
- Sign in to IBKR's OAuth Self-Service Portal, a separate login from Client Portal, with the IBKR Pro username you want to automate.
- Type a consumer key of any 9 letters, save it, and upload the three files.
- Generate the access token and secret and copy both at once (IBKR shows them only once). Then switch on Enable OAuth Access.
- Paste the consumer key, access token and secret, and optionally your account ID, on Tradetron's IBKR page and click Connect account.
Good to know
- Needs an IBKR Pro account.
- IBKR can take 24 hours or more to activate a new consumer key, sometimes only after its weekend maintenance. If connecting fails right after setup, try again later before changing anything.
- Tradetron never sees your IBKR username, password or 2FA. Revoking access in IBKR's portal stops Tradetron trading the account at once.
- Options orders need options trading approved on your IBKR account, at the level your strategy trades.

Can I automate options trading on Interactive Brokers with Tradetron?
Yes. Tradetron's broker catalog lists Interactive Brokers for US stocks and ETFs (NYSE and Nasdaq) and US options (Cboe). You build the option legs, entries and exits in Tradetron without code, and the strategy sends its orders to your Interactive Brokers account. Your Interactive Brokers account needs options trading approved at the level the strategy trades.
How does Tradetron connect to Interactive Brokers?
Through IBKR's own OAuth, set up once in IBKR's OAuth Self-Service Portal.
