Strategy description
Sells a 25-point SPX bull put spread once a week, only when volatility is in a normal range. Monday between 10:00 and 11:00 ET: if the VIX index is between 13 and 25, buy the protective put first (25 points below the short), then sell the put nearest 0.15 delta on the current weekly (Friday) expiry. Take profit at 50% of the credit received, stop out when the spread is worth 2x the credit (a loss equal to the credit), otherwise close at 15:30 ET on expiry day so it never goes into settlement. Weeks where the VIX filter fails are skipped. Defined risk: max loss is the 25-point width minus the credit, about $2,500 per spread. Times are US Eastern (Time(XCBO) clock). Capital per multiplier: $2,500 (the spread width x 100).
