Easiest way: ATM SPOT with steps
In the Position builder, set Strike Fx to Fx and use ATM SPOT (spot-based ATM). Use the “ATM +/- n Step(s)” offset:
- +1 = one strike above ATM: OTM for calls, ITM for puts.
- -1 = one strike below ATM: ITM for calls, OTM for puts.
Each step moves exactly one strike, at the instrument’s own strike interval.
Formula way (Round)
These examples use Bank Nifty spot with the Round keyword.
1 strike OTM, Call:
1 strike ITM, Call:
For puts it is the opposite. 1 strike OTM, Put:
1 strike ITM, Put:
The Round base is the strike interval (50 for NIFTY, 100 for BANKNIFTY at the time of writing). Check the current interval on the live option chain before relying on it; a wrong base gives a strike that doesn’t exist.
