Why Live Offline and Live Auto results can differ

Deployed strategies 2 views

Yes, they can differ. Live Offline (the testing mode that replaced Paper Trading) records trades without sending orders, so its prices are not real fills.

In Live Auto your orders go to the exchange through your broker. For NSE, NFO, BFO and MCX, market orders cannot be sent over API, so even a “Market” order goes out as a limit order that fills inside the exchange’s price band. A little slippage or a few seconds’ delay is normal.

Also note:

  • Liquidity, broker delays and rejections only happen in live trading.
  • Advanced Price Execution and other Advanced Settings change how real orders are placed.
  • A marketplace strategy’s displayed results may come from a different deployment than yours.

To tighten fills, tune the leg’s Advanced Price Execution settings. See How does Advanced Price Execution work.
