To allow algo trading on Zerodha, you will have to follow the following steps to configure Zerodha and Tradetron to talk to each other.
1) Make an account / Login to Zerodha Developer
2) Link your Kite account / add funds from your credit card to fund 2000 credits in your Zerodha developer account. (This is the monthly fee charged by Zerodha for algo trading API)
3) Create a new app to allow connection between Zerodha and Tradetron. Click on "Create new app"
Use the following for the settings. You will get to see your Tradetron userID in your Account Profile page.
Redirect URL : https://zerodha.tradetron.tech/login.php?user=your_tradetron_userid
Postback URL : https://zerodha.tradetron.tech/status-update.php?user=your_tradetron_userid
Status : Active
Description : Tradetron App
Zerodha Client Id : {your zerodha client id}
Note - Ensure to add your Tradetron profileID/user ID at the end of the URL in Redirect and Postback URL. You can find your UserID from your Tradetron profile page
Once you create the app, you need 2 pieces of information from here to save on Tradetron. The API key and the API secret
4) The API key and secret key provided by Zerodha has to be pasted on the Brokers & Exchanges settings on Tradetron. If you haven't yet configured Zerodha, Click on "Add Broker" and paste the API key, and Secret key as provided by Zerodha. Leave the token field blank
5) To use Kite APIs, Zerodha requires users to set up Time-based OTP (TOTP), Kindly click on the below link to setup TOTP for your account
6) Now the broker is added successfully. However, to trade, you need to generate the token manually every day before the market opens. Go to the broker and exchange section and click on the token generation link for the same
For the first time only, Zerodha will ask you to Authorize the app which you have created. Please click on "Authorize" to proceed. This step is very important or else the daily tokens will not be generated.
Once you have logged in on the above link, it will redirect you to a "Success" page on Tradetron. If you get that, it means you are good to go and your strategy will be automatically deployed in your Zerodha account.
